port of Alexandria is displaying an intensive activity throughout the 24 hours as the natural work routine continues in relation to the Port Operations Center, stevedoring operations, vessel traffic, cargo traffic, marine units, yards control, , the automated system as well as individuals and establishments security procedures. This comes as a reflection of the directives of H.E Lt. Gen. Kamel El-Wazir the Minister of Transport, highlighting the necessity of interruption of receiving cargoes and merchandise through Alexandria port as a fundamental strategic facility of our country, with great emphasis on taking all precautionary measures to prevent the spread of Corona virus; noting that the port operates in shifts in accordance with the decisions taken by the government to prevent the spread of the Corona virus, so that work continues around the clock to receive and facilitate import/export operations. Thus, according to the instructions of Captain\ Tarek Shaheen to all concerned port relative officials, to sterilization and decontamination procedures are performed with respect to all communal places, warehouses, yards, berths, buildings, vessels and marine units, roofs and cargo, equipment, cars of port personnel, their offices, and their equipment around the clock to ensure the prevention of diseases and epidemics spread or their conveyance through the port, in order to preserve citizens lives.
